Which mattress is best for babies and small children?
Children need a lot of sleep. Sleep is important for physical and mental development. Our children's mattresses are available in different firmness sizes to meet the needs of each child. To make it even more comfortable, you can add a mattress pad.
Choosing a mattress for children is somewhat more difficult because it is not the same as choosing a mattress for adults.
Because children are lighter in weight and have a smaller body shape, a soft spring mattress or foam mattress can feel to children as if they were an adult on a firm mattress. It is important that the mattress provides adequate support for the child's body. When lying in bed, the body should be as supported as possible. Ideally, when your child sleeps on their side, their spine should be straight and their shoulders and buttocks should sink into the mattress.
All IKEA mattresses are tested to meet international safety standards, ensuring a safe and sound sleep for parents and children.
