Sooo heavy and bulkyTamaraEvery one has different needs etc but I really wish I had gone with something a bit less heavy. It was one of the hardest idea pieces ive ever had to put together because things just didn't seem to line up properly. We got it together but it isn't worth the price and stress it caused. Live and learn. Next time im getting a lower profile and minimalist bed I can put storage underneath. If you have a huge room then this would probably be perfect.
Bridges bed frameCharleneWe purchased this bed frame several weeks ago. There was a misdrill or something. In the construction, the bed will not go together correctly.
I've assembled at least fourteen pieces of ikea furniture and I know how to do it. I ordered replacement parts specifically the cross section. That goes on the bottom. I got the hardware, but no replacement wood, and I know for a fact that it's drilled incorrectly, because the metal dowels don't fit in even slightly snug. And when you go to lift it up on the seventh step, it collapses in the middle. If I don't hear from ikea, soon on the replacement parts, it's coming back or you're gonna send somebody to fix it
king brimnesMarvabit overpriced...bought on sale & didnt realize i needed the slats as they were optional...ordered the slats $150, then realized i could get the much more reasonable elsewhere so cxld. frame is ok..wish id bought the one with only drawers at foot of bed since i purchased 2 nitestands that are in the way of opening the drawers now. wanted to send it back but put too much work into building the frame.
Great bed. Awful drawers.MichaelThis is the second Brimnes bed I have purchased. It's very comfortable, looks great, and has lots of room for storage. The issue both beds have had is flimsy drawer bottoms. Ikea says the drawers hold 44 lbs. It only took 2 full size sheet sets to pop the bottom out of mine. I thought Ikea might have fixed the problem in the years since I purchased my first Brimnes bed but apparently they have ignored the issue. This is ridiculous, Ikea. Just add a support across the middle of the drawer bottoms instead of making your customers do it.

Nice smooth running drawers and sturdy bedMarileeOnly thing I would like to have improved upon are the directions - just a little note what is top and bottom as the headboard and floorboard are shown together and is confusing if one doesn't have the room to sit in between like the picture shows. Otherwise after correcting a mistake or two, needed another person to help get some parts together easily. Then it was finished in half a day because I had to carry parts into the bedroom as I put it together, due to space. Looks nice and we both flopped down on it, so it's sturdy.
Great bed if you can put it togetherErinLet me say I am someone who has put together my fare share of Ikea products in the past without any trouble. My boyfriend and I struggled for two days to get past step 5 of the assembly process for this bed. We gave up and scheduled a task rabbit helper for about half the price of the bed on the third day. The helper never showed up. We continued sleeping on the couch another night. Finally a friend who is a trained mechanic came over and spent about five hours getting the bed part set up for us. I’m gonna work on the shelves at a later time when I’m less exhausted and can get a few good nights sleep. Don’t think I will ever get this bed again despite loving it now it is constructed, because it’s not worth the headache to get there.
Love!JaudaI actually love the bed for its quality, sturdiness, and storage. The directions were clear, a little confusing at times because it has pictures only. It’s best to look them over in full to make sure you do all steps in proper order. Once I got it all together, all by myself, it took me quite some time, but I accomplished it. And I love it! One of my best purchases.

The reason I gave it a 4 star is because the details of purchasing were NOT CLEARLY EXPLAINED. The slates SHOULD COME WITH THE bed. You shouldn’t have to assemble it and find out you were “Supposed to order it separately to add to the order!” You Definitely need the slates unless you’re using a box spring!! Sure wish that was explained CLEARLY AND CORRECTLY in the description!
PLEASE do not purchaseQqqqI have assembled plenty of IKEA furniture in the past, and I have never had a more excruciating experience with what I assumed would be a simple assembly. Step 6 is horrible. It's as if no one tested the instructions nor assembly. It's near impossible with the materials you are given coupled with occasionally unclear instructions. Some of the pieces feel like were included accidentally, like in Step 32 where you have to fight the metal bars to fit a screw into a just barely too narrow hole, then you have to do it again except upside down. Other low rating reviews speak to my same experience. The slats fell through the bed while I was putting on fresh sheets, and every time I try to move the bed I'm worried it will pull apart from itself. This bed is far from structurally sound. If you have any self respect, do not buy this bed. It is not worth the cheaper price.
Mostly Great EngineeringDanielOverall pleased with the bed, especially for “flat-box furniture”, it has ample storage and was relatively easy to assemble, though the instruction manual could be better. Instead of leaving people to wonder with unclear tiny pics, please try to use some actual words in the assembly process. My only gripe with the bed was when it came to the storage drawers, they seem a little under engineered as compared to the frame itself. They utilize a lot of plastic fasteners and anchors unlike the frame itself. It seems like they’re is opportunity to make the drawers much more sturdy.

The bed frame is attractive, the drawers are large, its built well and fantastic for saving space.JillMake sure you set three to four hours to put this together. Having a hand held screw driver saves time. This product is built well and provides fantastic space for storage. It is also a good height and is visually appealing. I would highly recommend this product.
